I’m a marine biologist with a B.S. in Coastal & Marine Biology from the University of North Florida, specializing in shark ecology and conservation. My work lives at the intersection of science, education, and hands-on restoration — from tagging sharks in South Africa to rebuilding coral nurseries in the Florida Keys.
I’ve been lucky to collaborate with incredible organizations like Bonefish & Tarpon Trust and the Coral Restoration Foundation, where I’ve helped advance research, restoration, and education efforts that protect our coastal ecosystems and the species that depend on them.
Every day in the field reminds me that marine science isn’t just about discovery — it’s about responsibility. Whether I’m analyzing shark plasma samples, leading an ocean education lesson for kids, or restoring coral reefs with a dive team, my mission is the same: protect what makes our planet blue.
Current Focus Areas
• Shark Ecology & Behavior — tracking, tagging, and studying coastal shark species
• Coral Reef Restoration — outplanting, monitoring, and using AI for reef mapping
• Marine Education & Outreach — inspiring future ocean advocates across the Keys
• Coastal Conservation — supporting sustainable fisheries and habitat preservation
After graduating in 2023, I’ve had the opportunity to dive into some incredible experiences:
• Research Assistant with Bonefish & Tarpon Trust in Key Largo — supporting shark data collection, coordinating with journalists and collaborators, and bridging science with public awareness.
• Intern with Coral Restoration Foundation in Islamora

• Research Assistant with Bonefish & Tarpon Trust in Key Largo — supporting shark data collection, coordinating with journalists and collaborators, and bridging science with public awareness.
• Intern with Coral Restoration Foundation in Islamorada — coral propagation, nursery maintenance, and outreach to local schools.
• Research Assistant with the Shark & Marine Research Institute in South Africa — studying Bronze Whalers and Great Whites, and participating in conservation events.
Whether I’m in a lab separating plasma samples or underwater securing coral fragments to a reef, I’m driven by the same goal: to protect and restore the ecosystems that sustain ocean life.
My Philosophy
The ocean connects everything — people, climate, biodiversity, and future possibility. I believe that effective conservation takes both rigorous science and human connection: educating communities, building partnerships, and inspiring people to care.

Shark Ecology & Tagging
From South Africa to the Florida Keys, my passion for sharks drives much of my research. I’ve studied shark ecology through both field and lab work — tagging, sampling, and observing behavior to better understand their role in marine ecosystems.

Coral Restoration & Reef Recovery
As an intern with the Coral Restoration Foundation (CRF) in Islamorada, I worked on hands-on reef restoration, education, and data analysis — connecting science to community action.
Bonefish & Tarpon Trust Research
Currently, I’m a Research Assistant with the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust (BTT) in Key Largo, where I support their mission to conserve and restore bonefish, tarpon, and permit fisheries through science and habitat protection.
Outreach & Conservation Education
Science means little if it stays in the lab. Through programs in the Florida Keys and volunteer work with FWC and The Explorers Club, I’ve helped make complex ocean science relatable — from shark tagging to coral growth.
I’m excited to continue blending shark research and reef restoration — exploring how predator presence and habitat health are intertwined. My long-term goal is to pursue graduate studies focused on shark conservation ecology and contribute to research that helps coastal ecosystems recover in a changing climate
